Year 5 and 6 Camp - Day Two!

Well, everyone made it through their first night at camp!  They are loving the experience and finding the simplest things a novelty....washing dishes, showering and even eating vegetables!!!

Today we had great fun doing the activities with the camp instructors:

High Trapeze

Kayaking

Archery

and the Crate Challenge

The first highlight of the day was  Kendyl, Paris B, Ruby, Sam A, Charlotte and Jessie jumping and reaching the high trapeze (about 9 metres off the ground).  Congratulations to Kendyl who was first to manage this and set the scene for the others!

The second highlight was breaking our school 'Crate Challenge' record.  In 2009 we managed 13 crates.....this year two groups managed 15!!!  Superb effort and congratulations to the 'Troff Scoffers'  and the 'Bog Trotters' groups.

Although the day began with a bit of drizzle, it turned out to be stunning and the kids had a great time.  Look in our photo gallery to see the proof!

The children are loving the food and aren't afraid to help finish off the leftovers.  Yesterday we had nachos for dinner with ice cream and fruit salad for desert.  This morning's breakfast was spaghetti on toast, ricies and toast/spreads.  They had pies for lunch today (a real treat) with fruit and yoghurt. "Yum" they all said.

Tomorrow is our hiking day.  Remember to let Janne know if you are joining us.  You will need to be at camp by 10am at the latest please.
