How can I enrol my child at Ridgeview School?

We are not a zoned school so we accept enrolments from anywhere in Auckland.

Once we have recieved your enrolment our office manager Kalene will email you a possible date for an enrolment meeting with the Principal Cassey Prentice.

When is the School Office open?

Kalene Meumann is in the School Office Monday through Friday  from 9am  until 3.15pm. You can contact Kalene on 027 593 5963 or office@ridgeview.school.nz

How is the school organised?

RidgeView School is organised across three homeroom classes:
Wāhi Koru – Year 0
Wāhi Pitau – Year 2/3/4 
Wāhi Pakari – Year 5/6. 

Each child is put into a house, we currently have three houses:
Ngarara
Whetu
Manu

Throughout the year we have a number of different house challenges. Each house is run by student leaders which gives students the chance to develop there leadership skills and work with a range of different age students

What is the RidgeView School Uniform?

School Uniforms can be purchased from the school office – we have a basic uniform that allows our students to be able to be free to play and run around and is easy to clean. It includes school polo shirt, school jumper, school hat, black pants.

Is Before and After School Care available?

Before School Care is available from 7.30am – 8.15am.  Students booked into this programme take part in the Breakfast Club scheme from 8.15am – 8.30am. All students are able to come to breakfast club at 8.15am. 

Students who are not part of breakfast club can be at school from 8.30am onwards. 

We currently do not have an afterschool program available and all students need to be collected from school by 3.10pm, students who remain onsite must be supervised by an adult. 

What time is the school open?

Students can be onsite from 8.30am
School begins at 8.50am and finishes at 3.00pm each day. The bell times are listed below:

1st Block –
8.50am – 10am Curriculum rotations

10am – 11.10am: Maths

Morning tea – 11.10 am – 11.30am

2nd Block – 11.30am – 1pm Literacy

Play – 1pm – 1.30 pm

Eating Time: 1.30 – 1.45 pm 

3rd Block – 1.45pm – 3.00pm 

NB  Students may not be onsite before school from 8.30am.

Are you part of a Community of Learning?

From 2026, Ridgeview School is no longer part of a Kāhui Ako. However, we continue to work closely and collaboratively with local primary schools, Albany Junior High School, and Albany Senior High School. Through the North Shore Principals’ Cluster, we maintain strong relationships with schools across the North Shore to ensure our students are well supported and confidently prepared for a smooth transition to the next stage of their learning journey.

Do you take international students?

We take a small number of International Students and depends on classroom availability. We currently have spaces available across the school. See the international students page for all the key information, or email the office for information.
